Several things made me create this blog: First and foremost, I want to write down some of my thoughts and ideas that neither find a place in term papers, nor seminar discussions nor conversations with friends. This also forces me to think more thoroughly and to actually work things out – something that I neglected in the past for various reasons. This is also supposed to function as a writing exercise and hopefully will manifest as a writing habit, especially since English is not my first language.
Further, I hope this blog can be a resource. Over the years that I studied philosophy, I turned away from very abstract and theoretical problems towards problems that directly affect my life and social relationships. Some insights that I gained had life-changing impact: I understood myself and my own experiences differently, I was able to name injustices that happened to me and could intelligibly talk to others about them. It’s not that I was completely unaware of certain wrongs prior to that intellectual epiphany. It’s just that I was unable to address them.
I acquired tools for thinking about social problems that I want to share, especially with people who have made similar experiences. The corresponding blog posts are intended to be as easily understandable as possible. I will take off from everyday life situations and integrate philosophical analysis to gain a better understanding of them. Or at least that’s what my ideal blog post will look like.
Stick around with me to see where this is going!
